Bill Northfield, previously Managing Director at Deutsche Bank and now an independent management consultant, is joining Skin In The Game as an Advisor and investing in the company's future.

Bill worked as an investment banker for Deutsche Bank in London from 1993 to 2015, most recently as Managing Director responsible for the firm’s sovereign, supranational and agency (SSA) debt capital markets team. Since leaving Deutsche Bank, Bill has worked as a consultant on public debt management policy and practice, for a range of clients including, inter alia, the International Monetary Fund, the UK’s FCDO and World Bank Treasury.

Skin In The Game is an FCA-regulated investment syndicate, enabling angel investors to invest in the future of sport and health alongside leading funds, family offices and professional athletes. The Skin In The Game investment community currently comprises over £100M of capital, looking to be deployed into early-stage sports and health startups.

Bill will join Skin In The Game's Advisory Group, currently comprised of Roberto Croci (ex-Managing Director, Microsoft for Startups), Rory Glover, (ex-KKR and Spectrum Equity), Ben Mercer (ex-professional rugby player) and Roddy Scaife (CEO, Zippen). In addition to advising senior management, Bill is investing in the business and will join Nathaniel Timbrell-Whittle (Global Head of SSA Syndicate, BNP Paribas) on the cap table.

Skin In The Game works with a global team of experts and partners to drive innovation and investment in sports and health, including Northridge Law, Europe’s largest and top ranked sports law practice. In the last few months, Northridge has worked on some of the biggest deals in sports, including the £4.25 billion sale of Chelsea Football Club.

"It's hard to put into words the impact Bill has already had on Skin In The Game. Bill introduced me to Ed, my Co-Founder in 2020, urging us to connect over our shared love of sports, health and investing. I am absolutely delighted to now be welcoming Bill as an investor and advisor. Those who know Bill will appreciate how incredibly lucky we are to have him on the squad."

- Scott Newall, Co-Founder, Skin In The Game.

In addition to having close to 30 years' experience and expertise in the rates markets, stakeholder relations and debt/risk management, Bill is a sports enthusiast, with a keen interest in tennis, skiing and mölkky.
