Scott Newall Appointed Chief Executive Officer
Skin In The Game Investment Group (SITG), is pleased to announce the appointment of Scott Newall as its first Group CEO, with effect from 1st September 2023.
Skin In The Game was founded in 2021 by Edward Rhys, investment banker, serial entrepreneur and investor. Later that year, Edward was introduced to strategy consultant and startup advisor, Scott Newall. A partnership was formed and Skin In The Game Investment Group was born. In an investor update, Edward Rhys explained:
“Those of you who know Scott, know what he offers. Action, not words. Scott didn’t need to ask about becoming a co-founder – thanks to his ideas, work ethic, and vision, in my mind he already was one.”
Two years on, Skin In The Game announces the appointment of Scott Newall (Co-Founder) as Group Chief Executive Officer. Edward Rhys (Co-Founder) has announced he is stepping down as a director, giving full strategic control to Scott Newall as Group CEO. Edward will remain a shareholder and investor in the group, however he will no longer perform a management role. Edward commented:
“We’re in the investment business, and I see this as the biggest investment this company will make. An investment in a person. I’m betting on Scott to build the future of Skin In The Game. Nassim Nicholas Taleb (whose book “Skin In The Game” inspired the name of our company) has pointed out that:
“How much you truly “believe” in something can be manifested only through what you are willing to risk for it.”
I’m grateful to Scott for the belief he’s shown, and the risk he has taken investing in the group since he joined as Co-Founder. I’m absolutely thrilled to see him appointed Group CEO, and I know our investors, advisors, and community will feel the same way.”
As Group CEO, Scott will be responsible for future strategy, growth and investment of the group. Skin In The Game’s syndicate - now deploying capital - includes 100+ industry heavyweights, exited founders, serial angels, private equity investors and athletes. The group also includes a global network of capital partners - venture capital funds and family offices - willing to collaborate, co-invest and provide follow-on capital.
Skin In The Game’s Board of Advisors now includes Alistair Brownlee MBE (investor and two-time Olympic Triathlon Champion), Laurie Canter (investor and professional golfer), Roberto Croci (Director, Public Investment Fund), Joe Foster (Founder of Reebok), Rory Glover, (entrepreneur, ex-KKR/Spectrum Equity), Laurie Pinto (veteran sports financier and MD, Cambridge Wilkinson) and Bill Northfield (Consultant and former MD, Deutsche Bank).
“Very happy to be onboard and looking forward to working with Scott and the team at Skin In The Game. Exciting times ahead!”
- Advisory Board Member Joe Foster - Founder of Reebok
